The audio has nothing to do with Keith's activity on that modular system. Anyone who has a modular synthesizer knows you can't patch, plug, repatch, tweak, and unplug that many times without some noticeable change in the sound beyond a monophonic drone...

Wonder if this is the same modular system Mick Jagger used to compose the unused soundtrack of Kenneth Anger's Invocation of My Dream Brother. That short electronic piece is totally tripped out. Keef's opiated tones are actually pretty cool, parts of it anticipate the more ambient tones of Eno and early 90s ambient music.

Little do people know, Keith was actually just trying to make a phone call.
